Bio:
Robin Burke is an active member of CDCA and currently serving on Education Committee and Chair of the Internship Subcommittee. She has 18 years of managerial and technical experience supporting C5ISR programs and is a Business Development Manager for NOVA Power Solutions. She is originally from Columbia, SC and moved to Charleston in 2008. Her experience includes program management, project management, product development, systems engineering, quality assurance, and acquisition support for electronic communication systems. Her knowledge base includes working in the Defense Industry supporting military Intelligence Systems and Naval Special Warfare programs, and in the Commercial Industry supporting telecommunications and wayside signaling programs. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercer University School of Engineering. As an active member of the Charleston community, she currently supports the Navy League Charleston, Education Committee for AFCEA, and served on the Board of Directors for WID. Volunteer efforts include supporting annual conferences such as CDCA C5ISR and NDIA C4ISR, the First Robotics competitions, among other activities. As she considers herself the “eternal student”, her passion is promoting the development our youth in the exploration of new technologies. In leading the Internship Program for 2016, she redesigned the criteria to better align with CDCA’s mission to increase awareness and contribute to the overall betterment of the Defense Industry in Charleston. The program was also changed to bring increased visibility and participation with member companies to describe the impact of the program and the effect it has had on their businesses. Feedback was well-received and next year’s participation is expected to increase. As this program is the largest funded effort within CDCA outside of the C5ISR Summit, the changes helped to improve not just the program, but providing demonstratable benefits in holding CDCA membership.
