H.R. 7887, the ACCESS Act, would open up additional government contracting jobs to those who do not have four-year college degrees.
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The Charleston Defense Contractors Association (CDCA) and Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) are scheduled to hold a joint press conference where Mace will show support for, and discuss the importance of recently introduced
bipartisan bill, H.R. 7887.
H.R. 7887, the “Allowing Contractors to Choose Employees for Select Skills Act” or the “ACCESS Act,” which is co-sponsored with Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), was reported favorably by the House Committee
on Government Reform and Oversight. If adopted, the bill will help those who do not have a four-year college degree obtain more jobs as government contractors by removing the requirement that such workers hold a college degree from a four-year institution.
